Sherwin Williams Zinc Clad IV 80% Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer is a two component, polyamide epoxy, zinc rich coating for use over blast cleaned steel, galvanised steel or iron.

Best Uses

Zinc Clad IV 80% is best suited for use over properly prepared blasted steel, in areas exposed to fresh and salt water, areas exposed to brackish water, and areas exposed to chemical fumes. Provides cathodic protection. Meets SSPC Paint Specification #20 for zinc rich organic primers. Topcoating is recommended for maximum protection.


Prepare steel to Per EN ISO 8501-1 2007 Sa2½, SSPCSP10/NACE 2. Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material to ensure adequate adhesion. Zinc rich coatings require direct contact between the zinc pigment in the coating and the metal substrate for optimum performance. Use Thinner and Cleanser No 13 to clean up.
