Best Uses

Fosroc Dekguard CP is an environmentally friendly protective coating suitable for application to new and existing concrete structures. It is designed to protect reinforced concrete from chloride ions, oxygen, carbon dioxide (CO2) and other aggressive chemicals.

Dekguard CP is a component of Fosroc’s Renderoc system of concrete reinstatement. Dekguard CP has a wide range of uses, including multi-storey car parks, office buildings, industrial buildings, tunnels and bridges.

Application

Fosroc Dekguard CP is a low viscosity liquid which can be applied by brush, roller or spray.

All surfaces should be dry and free from contamination such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss, algal growth, laitance and all traces of mould release oils and curing compounds. This is best achieved by suitable mechanical means. Where moss, algae or similar growths have occurred, treatment with a proprietary biocide should be carried out.

Prior to application, any surrounding plants, grass, joint sealants, glass windows and PVC frames should be protected. Stir before use. Where Fosroc Dekguard CP is used as a primer for another Dekguard coating, apply one or two coats as required. Where Dekguard CP is used as a self-finish, apply two coats. The first coat should be applied by brush, roller or airless spray equipment.

After the first coat has dried (minimum of 2 hours), apply the 2nd coat (if required). Prior to application by spray, check the prevailing wind direction to avoid overspray onto sensitive surrounding areas.
