Hempel Hempadur Pro Zinc 17380
Hempel Hempadur Pro Zinc is a two-component, zinc rich epoxy primer. Offers cathodic protection of local mechanical damage, and is in compliance with the compositional requirements of SSPC Paint-20, 2019, Type II, Level 1.
Best Uses
Hempel Hempadur Pro Zinc 17380 is recommended as a high solids, versatile, long-term primer on steel for epoxy coating systems in medium to severely corrosive environments.Maximum dry exposure only temperature: 160°C / 320°F.
Suitable for overcoating with Hempel Hempaprime Multi 500.
Application
Cleanliness
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants by suitable detergent cleaning. Remove salts, detergents and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning.
- New build: Abrasive blasting to min. Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1) / SP 10 (SSPC). Remove dust, blast media and loose materials.
- Maintenance and Repair: According to Hempel’s Specification.

Base 17389 : Curing Agent 98382 (4 : 1 by volume)
Products containing floating or settling particles/pigments need to be continuously stirred during application. This is especially important in case of heavy thinning.
