International Interplus 546 is a single component solvent based cleaner / degreaser, which can be described as readily biodegradable as tested by OECD 301B CO2 Evolution test.
Best Uses
Interplus 546 is specifically designed to remove surface contamination such as oil, grease, dirt and soot from metallic and coated substrates as part of a maintenance program. Interplus 546 can be used in conjunction with Interplus 614 rust remover.
Interplus 546 can also be used to remove carbon steel contamination from metals, glass and coated substrates.
Application
Prior to application of Interplus 546, any loose contaminants should be removed from the surface using a stiff brush in order to aid activation of the product. Surfaces not to be treated should be masked and protected with polyethylene prior to application. It is recommended that a strong groundsheet be used to contain any contamination residue, product and rinse water.
Test Patch
It is strongly recommended that a small test patch should always be carried out on a representative area in order to ascertain the activation time and efficiency of contamination removal. Activation times are very much dependent upon the condition of the substrate and the concentration of the contaminants to be removed, however, a typical activation time is within 10 and 20 minutes. Any resultant rinse washings should be collected and analysed by an independent laboratory to ensure
disposal in accordance with local environmental legislation.
Application Conditions
Optimal working temperature range is 5 - 35°C (41 - 95°F), however, it can be used at temperatures as low as 0°C (32°F) and a maximum of 60°C (140°F).
For best results, it is advised to suitably cover the application area to reduce the effect of wind, rain and intense sunlight.

| Cleaner / Thinner: | Clean equipment immediately after use with water. Any excess Interplus 546 should be first removed from the substrate with industrial cloths. Then high pressure water washing should be used to remove any final residue from the substrate. |
