Jotun Penguard FC is a two component, polyamide cured, high molecular weight epoxy coating, with a semi gloss finish with fair gloss retention. Formulated as a primer, finish coat or as single coat system in atmospheric environments or as a final coat in immersed environment.

Best Uses

Jotun Penguard FC is formulated as be used as topcoat in atmospheric and immersed environments or as a primer, finish coat or as single coat system in atmospheric environments or as a final coat in immersed environment. Recommended for all non immersed areas and areas immersed in seawater. Suitable for a wide range of industrial structures. Can be used as primer, finish coat or as single coat system.

Application

For carbon steel, prepare to Sa 2 1/2. for stainless steel and aluminium, prepare by abrasive blast cleaning to achieve a surface profile using approved non metallic abrasive media which is suitable to achieve a sharp and angular surface profile. For galvanised steel, prepare to Sa 1. For concrete, allow a minimum of 4 weeks curing. Moisture content maximum 5%. Prepare the surface by means of enclosed blast shot or diamond grinding and other appropriate means to abrade the surrounding concrete and to remove laitance. For previously coated surfaces, ensure the coating is clean, dry and undamaged compatible coating.

Apply via airless spray. Use a brush for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Roller can be used but care must be taken to reach the correct dry film thickness.
