Jotun Penguard Topcoat is a two component polyamide cured epoxy coating. It has a glossy finish with fair gloss retention. To be used as topcoat in atmospheric environments.

Best Uses

Jotun Penguard Topcoat is formulated for marine use such as topside, deck and superstructure. It is also suitable for a wide range of industrial structures. Jotun Penguard Topcoat is designed to be used within a Jotun system as a topcoat.

Application

To secure lasting adhesion to the subsequent product all surfaces shall be clean, dry and free from any contamination. Optimum performance, including adhesion, corrosion protection, heat resistance and chemical resistance is achieved with recommended surface preparation.

Apply Jotun Penguard Topcoat with airless spray. Use a brush or roller for stripe coating and small areas. Care should be taken to reach the correct dry film thickness.

Depending on the actual exposure of the coating system, various primers and topcoats can be used in combination with this product. Some examples are shown below. Contact Promain's technical team for specific system recommendation.

  • Previous coat: zinc epoxy, zinc silicate, epoxy, epoxy mastic
  • Subsequent coat: epoxy, polyurethane

    Low Flame Spread in accordance with EU Directive for Marine Equipment. Approved in accordance with parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO 2010 FTP Code, or Parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO FTPC when in compliance with IMO 2010 FTP Code Ch. 8
