Product Description

KEIM Colourwash Lime Primer is a one coat primer made of pure potassium silicate and small organic additives.

Best Uses

Keim Colourwash Lime Primer is for use on interior ceilings and walls. It helps regulate the absorbency of lime plaster and other highly absorbent mineral substrates, making it ideal for use prior to the application of KEIM Colourwash BASE or KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat.

Application

Surfaces should be fully prepped prior to application of KEIM Colourwash Lime Primer. Abrade any gloss/sheen finishes with sandpaper to create a key, and repair any defects with only mineral-based materials (such as KEIM Dolomitspachtel). Allow 1 day per millimetre thickness drying time. Ensure surfaces are clean, sound and dry. Note:  When applying over new lime plaster, you should allow a minimum period of 28 days to dry and carbonate to a minimum of 2.5mm.

Apply a single coat of KEIM Colourwash Lime Primer by brush and work well into the surface. Allow a minimum period of 12 hours before overcoating with KEIM Colourwash BASE or KEIM Colourwash Textured Undercoat.
