Jotun Pilot QD Primer is a one component oxidatively drying alkyd coating, that is a fast drying, high build, zinc phosphate pigmented primer or midcoat in atmospheric environments. Suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, aluminium and wooden substrates.

Available in pallet rates at the low cost of £3.99 per litre (dependent on colour).

Best Uses

Jotun Pilot QD Primer is a single pack high build oxidatively drying alkyd coating which is zinc phosphate pigmented. Jotun Pilot QD Primer has been formulated to offer an extended wet edge making it suitable to be applied by paint brush. Pilot QD Primer is suitable to be applied directly to correctly prepared metal as a primer and also benefits from being suitable as a midcoat in standard atmospheric environments.

Substrates that Pilot QD primer is suitable for are properly prepared carbon steel, aluminium and wooden substrates. Marine areas where Jotun Pilot is recommended for are areas such as engine rooms as well as topside, decks and superstructures as well as many other industrial applications.

Application

Prepare carbon steel to Sa 2 1/2. For Aluminium, abrasive blast cleaning to achieve a surface profile using approved non metallic abrasive media which is suitable to achieve a sharp and angular surface profile. For coated surfaces, clean, dry and undamaged compatible coating.

For wood, clean and dry surface. Surface contamination is to be removed by detergents and fresh water cleaning. Apply using airless spray or brush. Brush is recommended. Roller can be used for smaller areas.
