Mapei produce a range of primers specifically formulated used to prime cementitious mortars and self levelling screeds before applying a range of single or two pack floor paints or epoxy and polyurethane resin systems, Primers are also available for priming before smoothing with Elastocolor Rasante or painting cementitious and lime based renders, asbestos cement and concrete blocks with Mapei Elastocolor Paint.

Mapei Single or two-component fillerized epoxy primer offer high penetration properties and can help to protect and coat civil and industrial floors, terrazzo floors and cementitious and porous substrates. Mapei primers can be applied by either roller, metal trowel or by smooth rake. Mapei Primer offer anti-evaporation protection and are suitable to impregnate concrete surfaces, repaired on surfaces before applying epoxy and polyurethane resin systems from the Mapefloor range and self-levelling cementitious mortars from the Ultratop or Ultratop Living Range. Mapei have also developed Mapecrete Creme Protection a solvent-free, water soluble silane-based, thixotropic impregnating cream, ideal for the hydrophobic treatment of concrete. Mapecrete Creme Protection will protect the surface of concrete floors or walls against capillary penetration of water, the ingress of chlorides or other pollutants and continuous exposure of surfaces during freeze/thaw cycles.
