Teknos Ferrex Combi is a water-borne anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for direct to metal application. Available in a huge range of stock colours, tintable to thousands of shades.

Best Uses

Teknos Ferrex Combi is a water-borne tintable anti-corrosive paint for priming, top coating and one layer painting for nearly all unpainted and previously painted metal surfaces internally and externally.

This product provides excellent adhesion to metal and painted surfaces, as well as good weather and wear resistance.

Teknos Ferrex Combi is suitable for application onto metal surfaces indoors and outdoors such as sheet-iron roofs, metal cladding, metal balconies,playground furniture, roof ladders, metal fencing, doors, windows, pillars, beams, fixed and detached metal furniture.

Suitable metals include steel and iron surfaces, zinc-coated steel, galvanized sheet steel (roof and facade sheets), aluminium and copper.

Also this product is suitable as a topcoat for metal primed or previously painted with acrylate, alkyd, polyurethane, epoxy and polyester binder based paints or coatings.

Application

STEEL AND ALUMINIUM SURFACES:

Surfaces to be painted are cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities. Teknos Rensa Steel washing agent, solvent wiping etc. is used for cleaning. Loose and poorly adherent paint or coating is removed. Rust is removed from the surfaces (preparation grade St2) using wire brushing or other suitable method.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED METAL SURFACES:

Surfaces are cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities. Teknos Rensa Roof washing agent, solvent wiping etc. is used for cleaning. Loose and poorly adherent paint or coating is removed. Rust is removed from the surfaces (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or other suitable method.

PLASTIC COATED ROOF AND WALL SURFACES:

Can be used for touch-up painting of rusted areas. Rust is removed from the surfaces (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or other suitable method. The edge of the cleaned area and solid paint layer is sanded smooth in order to ensure adhesion of the top coat. Sand the old painted surfaces matt from the areas, which will be touch-up painted with Teknos Ferrex Combi.

Suitable Topcoats

Water-borne outdoor paints, e.g. Teknos Kirjo Aqua paint for sheet-iron roofs, Teknos Nordica house paints, Teknos Visa opaque wood stain, Teknos Siloksan Facade silicone emulsion paint, Teknos Siloksan Anti-Carb protective paint.

In outdoor objects where particularly good mechanical resistance is required use Teknos Teknodur Combi 3430 polyurethane paint.

Furniture paints for indoor use: paints from Teknos Futura Aqua series. Water-borne interior paints, e.g. paints from Teknos Biora, Teknos Teknospro and Teknos Timantti series and Teknos Teknofloor Aqua floor paint.
