Teknos Nordica Eko is a water-borne double-action acrylate paint for wooden surfaces such as external cladding. Offers a glossy and hard surface that is dirt-repellent. Retains its colour and gloss for many years.

Best Uses

Teknos Nordica Eko is ideal for new and previously painted wooden surfaces externally such as exterior wooden walls, fascia boards, weather boards and window boards. Also suitable for Planed wood, Fine-sawn wood, Existing oil paint, Acrylate paint, Pre-primed boardsIf you need a product for log structures we would recommend Teknos Woodex Aqua Classic wood stain.  

This product is suitable for application over external composite cladding boards if a priming coat of Teknos Nordica Primer is applied first.

Application

NEW WOODEN SURFACE:
Treat the surface as soon as possible. At least the impregnation and priming would be best done in the summer of construction. Remove from the surface all loose matter, dirt, dust and mildew. If needed, use Teknos Rensa Facade facade cleaner. Apply a coat of clear Teknos Woodex Aqua Base priming oil. Allow to dry for one day.

Prime wooden surfaces with 5-10% diluted Teknos Nordica Primer and allow the surfaces to dry for 1 - 3 days depending on the weather. Clean rusty steel parts: by sanding, wire brushing eg., and prime with Teknos Ferrex Aqua anti-corrosive paint.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED OR OLD WOODEN SURFACE:
Replace deteriorated wooden parts with new ones. Remove loose matter, dirt and dust. Remove all lose and flaking paint coats entirely. Note, that the adherence of an old thick paint layer to the substrate may have been weakened, therefore the paint should be removed although the paint film looks intact. The old paint layer is removed primarily by scraping or wire brushing and possibly by heating the surface with infra-red heater designed for that purpose. Secondarily paint remover or blasting can be used.

Wash surfaces with Teknos Rensa Facade facade cleaner and rinse thoroughly. Old, untreated wooden surfaces can before the priming be treated with clear Teknos Woodex Aqua Base priming oil, see 'NEW WOODEN SURFACE'. Prime bare wooden surfaces with Teknos Nordica Primer, diluted 5-10%. Allow to dry for 1 to 3 days depending on the weather. Clean rusty steel parts: by sanding, wire brushing eg., and prime with Teknos Ferrex Aqua anti-corrosive paint.
