Due to it's high levels of resistance to UV rays and ever changing weather conditions, Tikkurila Everal Aqua is ideal for exterior use on items such as garden furniture. However, it is equally suitable for interior use on a range of surfaces including wooden furniture, doors, window trim, radiators, ceramic tiles, chipboard and primed metals, to name just a few.
To begin, all surfaces need to be thoroughly cleaned from dirt, dust and grease. If you are applying the paint to a previously painted surface then this should be cleaned with Tikkurila Maalipesu and any loose flaking paint removed prior to application.
In order to acheive the best results on new interior wooden surfaces, we recommend priming the surface with Tikkurila Everal Primer before painting. For exterior wood, Tikkurila Valtti Guard primer should be used.
For interior and exterior metals prime the surface with Tikkurila Rostex Super Akva. Although a primer is not always required when the area does not need corrosion protection, using a primer will improve adhesion and therefore the overall finish of the final coat.
To assist with adehsion when painting surfaces such as aluminum, copper, wood, plastic, glass or ceramic, ensure you roughen the surface and then apply Tikkurila Otex Akva Adhesion Primer before applying the top coat.
