Tikkurila Temabond ST300 is a two-component, high solids, epoxy maintenance paint which is ideal for use on steel structures with demanding surfaces.
Best Uses
Temabond ST300 is the perfect solution for repainting steel surfaces that are difficult to clean. These include areas such as bridges, cisterns, hydro power stations, and different types of steelwork and equipment in the wood-processing and chemical industries. ST300 is suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Temabond 300 is CE marked, which means it is also suitable for use on concrete surfaces.
Application
All surfaces should be cleaned and dry before application. All oil, grease, salts and dirt should be removed by the appropriate means.
Steel surfaces should have any rust removed by tool cleaning to minimum St2 or blast clean to Sa2 or Sa2½. Blast clean to grade Sa2½ for immersion. (ISO 8501-1).
Earlier painted surfaces should have the old paint roughened using an abrasive wheel, sand paper or by blast cleaning.
Concrete surfaces must be dry and at least 4 weeks old. The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97%. Remove any splashes and unevenness by grinding. Remove laitance and form oil from concrete castings by sanding or blast cleaning. Any cracks, crevices and voids must be repaired with and mixture of Temafloor 200 and fine dry quartz sand.
