Tikkurila Temal 600HB
Tikkurila Temal 600HB is a high build silicone-aluminium paint for use in areas that demand a heat resistant product. Resistant to temperatures up to +650ºC dry heat on steel without primer, and +400ºC when applied over a zinc silicate paint.
Best Uses
Temal 600HB is ideal for use on exterior steel structures that are exposed to high temperatures. It is also suitable for sauna stoves, fireplace doors, flues, exhaust pipes and other hot metal surfaces.
Application
Application is by either conventional or airless spray, or by brush. All surfaces should be clean and dry before application.
Steel surfaces should be blast cleaned to grade Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1). If blast cleaning is not possible, phosphating is recommended for cold rolled steel to improve adhesion.
The surface temperature of the steel should remain at least 3°C above the dew point. Good ventilation and sufficient air movement is required in confined areas during both application and drying.
Zinc silicate surfaces should have all oil, grease, salt and dirt removed from the surface by appropriate means. Ensure that you repair any damage to the primer coat. Note the overcoating time of the primer (ISO 12944-4).
Recommended Primer
Tikkurila Temasil 90.
