Coo-Var Guard-Coat Anti-Microbial Floor and Wall Paint is a tough, hygienic coating that inhibits the growth of micro organisms such as bacteria and germs using silver ion technology.

Guarding against the spread of bacteria including MRDS and E. Coli for the life of the paint, this coating is not only suitable for walls but also floors with the added benefit of being easy to clean. As a 2 pack system, this paint is incredibly hard wearing, withstanding chair and trolley knocks.

Best Uses

Coo-Var Guard-Coat can be used over stable existing paint coverings on wood, concrete, masonry, asphalt and tarmac. Hospitals, clinics, kitchens, catering establishments, public buildings, schools, factories, care homes, residential centres, prisons, hotels, leisure centres, vets and much more.

Application

Prior to use, Coo-Var 2 Pack High Performance Primer and / or Dampshield can be used. Coo-Var Guard-Coat should be diluted with 500ml of clean water per 5kg pack. Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C. All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants.

Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good key for the paint. This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Coo-Var Acid Etch. These processes will have the advantage in addition to preparing the surface of also removing dirt and laitance. New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly, which can take up to 3 months. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate.

Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate key is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly.
