Glixtone SF1

Glixtone SF1 is an emulsion based, water dilutable scrim fixative and sealer for absorbent masonry surfaces.

Glixtone Emulsion Stabiliser Fixative W/B SF1 is an emulsion based, water based scrim fixative and sealer for absorbent masonry surfaces. SF1 is a clear, easy to use, fast drying water based solution and can be relied upon for effective results.

Glixtone Emulsion Stabiliser Fixative W/B SF1 can be used diluted or undiluted. SF1 used undiluted acts as a fixative for Glixtone PWS9 scrim along joints in board substrates such as plasterboard, cement particle board, etc, prior to application of high build coating such as Glixtone RW2 and PL16.

By adding 3 parts water to 1 part SF1, diluted Glixtone SF1 can also be used to seal masonry substrates prior to the application of water based coatings.

Best Uses

Glixtone SF1 used diluted can be used as a sealer for masonry substrates prior to the application of water based finishes.

Application

Before applying Glixtone Emulsion Stabiliser Fixative W/B SF1 prepare by cleaning surfaces and ensuring they are firm and dry. SF1 can be used undiluted or it can be diluted with 3 parts water to 1 part SF1. Coverage when applying undiluted will fix approx. 50 linear metres of PWS9 per litre, when diluted 1 litre of the diluted mixture will cover approximately 20m2 drying time for SF1 is approximately 3 hours, depending upon atmospheric conditions. Apply the stabiliser by either paint brush or paint roller and after application painting tools can be cleaned with clean water.

Surface and Environment

SF 1 has been developed for application to board substrates such as plasterboard, cement particle board, etc, if used undiluted but when diluted it becomes an excellent sealer for use on masonry substrates.

For optimum results apply do not apply in direct sunlight, application should be carried out when ambient temperatures are between 5°C. and 28°C. and when rain is not forecast within a minimum of 4 hours.
