Hempel's T-Wash 09940 is a phosphoric, acid based, mordant etch solution designed for use on galvanised steel and developed based on a formulation by British Rail.

Hempel T-Wash 09940 has been specially formulated to provide a high quality etching pre-treatment for galvanised steel and is ideally used in the marine, Highways or rail industry.


Hempel's T-Wash 09940 is a pale blue solution that can be applied using a brush or sponge and provides a low-cost product which produces a high performance etching.

Surface and Environment

Hempel's T-Wash 09940 has been purposely developed by Hempel for use on new galvanised steel and can be used in all industrial and marine type exposures, where structural steel exists.
