Johnstone's Trade Quick Dry Metal Primer is ideal for using as part of a system with Johnstone’s Water Based Steel & Cladding Topcoat. This product primes suitably prepared ferrous metals, such as, steel, iron and prepared galvanised steel. This product is quick drying and with low odour.
All surfaces to be painted should be sound, clean, dry and free from grease, polish and loose or flaking material. Existing rust or millscale should be removed from iron and steel. Johnstone’s Cleaner & Degreaser should be used to suitably clean the surface. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask when dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Stir well before use. Easy to apply by brush, roller or spray. Do not thin.
