PRODUCT DETAILS

Jotun Mare Nostrum SP is a self polishing anti-fouling based on a unique binder combination system.

Best Uses

Jotun Mare Nostrum SP provides very good fouling protection and assures a totally active surface continuously renewed providing a clean hull for the whole season. After immersion in water the true colour will appear. Suitable for motor boats, sailing boats, and speed boats (40 knots +).

Jotun Mare Nostrum SP is not recommended for boats sailing only in fresh water. Only white colour is recommended for aluminium hulls when used as part of an approved system.

Self polishing anti-fouling allows the biocide and the resin are dissolved in a predictable rate. As a result there is always a new fresh layer of anti fouling in contact with the sea water keeping a regular leaching rate of the biocides throughout the whole service life of the product. All-round technology for most types of boats. Ideal for cruisers and sailing lovers.

Application

Prepare surfaces with grease, oil or other contamination, wash with recommended Jotun Yachting detergent. High pressure water wash the substrate. For best results, the substrate should be clean, dry and free from any contamination. Surfaces with self polishing anti-fouling in good condition, apply this product directly on the old anti-fouling. (Some products may be difficult to overcoat directly, and should be sealed with a coat of Jotun Vinyl Primer.

Surfaces with hard anti-fouling or any anti-fouling in bad condition, scraping and wet sanding down to sound substrate is necessary before applying this product. Surfaces with unknown anti fouling, scraping and wet sanding down to sound substrate followed by a recommended sealer is necessary.

Bare substrate to be treated with recommended primer system: Jotun AntiPest or Jotun Vinyl Primer. Refer to data sheet, direction for use for the selected Jotun Yachting product.

Apply 2 coats using roller, air spray or airless spray, or roller.

Some colour variation between batches may occur. Mix contents with different batch numbers before use to prevent shade variations.
