Jotun Solvalitt
Jotun Solvalitt is a one component physically drying silicone acrylic coating that is heat resistant up to 600°C. Suitable as a primer, mid coat or finish coat in atmospheric environments.
Best Uses
Jotun Solvalitt is suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium substrates. Designed as heat resistant coating. Suitable for insulated and non-insulated surfaces. Recommended in combination with an inorganic zinc silicate coating as primer, providing heat resistance up to 400°C.
Jotun Solvalitt provides stable colours up to 600°C, making it well suited as finish coat. Well suited on top of Solvalitt Zinc or inorganic zinc primers for improved corrosion resistance. Suitable for insulated (CUI) and non-insulated surfaces.
Application
To secure lasting adhesion to the subsequent product all surfaces shall be clean, dry and free from any contamination. For carbon steel prepare to Sa2.5. For stainless steel prepare to Sa 2.5 cleanliness. For aluminium, dry abrasive blast clean to SSPCSP 13/NACE No. 6. For galvanised steel, light brush blast using non metallic abrasive leaving a clean, rough and even pattern. For coated surfaces, ensure it is clean, dry and undamaged while being an compatible coating.
Apply using air spray or airless spray. Use a brush for stripe coating or small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Roller may be used for small areas. Not recommended for first primer coat. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
