Coo-var Paints is the retail and trade name for maintenance coatings from Teal and Macrill. Established in 1908, they are a family owned company based in Hull. In recent years the business has grown under the guidance of Geoff Macrill and plans are now in place to build a new manufacturing plant adjacent to the old facility.

Coo-Var have built a reputation with local authorities as well as schools and decorators for providing paints and coatings that focus on solving problems rather than just providing decorative solutions. Coo-Var were awarded finalist in the Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Awards by The British Coatings Federation in 2013. Coo-Var have long been known for their anti-slip paint called Suregrip used in many mariners for providing slip resistance to steps, ramps and jetties.

Coo-Var Anti-Climb paint is applied to the tops of walls, window cills and gates as well as drain pipes, brick walls and gutters making the surfaces almost impossible to climb.
