Owatrol Solid Color Stain is a water based high performance, long lasting protective finish which provides an opaque matt finish and is available in 34 different shades.
Owatrol Solid Color Stain contains Owatrol E-B which provides an adhesion coat for exterior vertical and horizontal surfaces. Owatrol Solid Color Stain is suitable for application on wood substrates, including docks, decking, cabins, cladding, fencing, screens and outdoor furniture plus many more.
With the correct application method being followed, Owatrol Solid Color Stain is guaranteed against flaking and peeling for 15 years on vertical surfaces and 5 years on horizontal surfaces.
Owatrol Solid Colour Stain is for exterior use only and can be used to provide protection from the elements on new or weathered exterior wood, softwood, hardwood, tropical wood, thermo heated wood, untreated solid wood, primed and previously finished fibre cement board and plywood, weathered vertical masonry including stucco, painted blocks and EIFS, plus many more substrates.
Owatrol Solid Colour Stain can be applied using a high quality synthetic stain brush, roller with a tight knit synthetic cover or air-less sprayer.
Before application you must ensure the surface is clean, dry and that any other previously applied finishes are removed, apply at least 2 coats allowing 3-4 hours between coats.
Owatrol Solid Color Stain has a theoretical coverage rate of 8-10 M2 per litre. Actual coverage will vary depending upon the type, age and texture of the wood.
Uncoated weathered wood surfaces and surfaces that have already been coated with Owatrol Solid Color Stain should be cleaned with Owatrol Net-trol prior to the application of Owatrol Solid Colour Stain to ensure the surface is clean and at the correct PH.
Surfaces previously treated/coated with other finishes will need to have the product stripped from the surface. This can be achieved by treating the surface with Owatrol Dilunett - Solvent Free Paint Remover. The surface must then be treated with Owatrol Net-trol to neutralise the Dilunett and ensure the timber is clean and at the correct PH prior to the application of Owatrol Solid Color Stain.
New wood surfaces will need to be treated with Owatrol Seasonite Protection for New Wood and allowed to weather for 6 months and then they will need to be treated with Owatrol Net-trol before the application of Owatrol Solid Color Stain.
Please consult manufacturer’s Product Data Sheet before application.
