Sika Reactivation Primer is a single pack primer for the reactivation of existing Sika Liquid Plastics Decothane Roofing and Balcony systems.

Best Uses

Sika Reactivation Primer is a single component primer that has been formulated that will reactivate Sika Liquid Plastics liquid applied roof membranes such as the Decothane system extending the over-coating window.

The Reactive Primer is based on a polyurethane that will increase the adhesion to the prepared existing membrane enabling small localized repairs to be carried out and also prepare the existing surface ready for recoating with one on the Sika Liquid Plastics liquid membrane roofing system. This will make application of a further coat of the liquid membrane possible extending design life expectancy and provide effective protection against water ingress.

Suitable for use over a wide range of existing polyurethane roofing membranes (subject to satisfactory adhesion testing)

Application

The surfaces must be clean, dry, free of stripping agents and free of oil, grease, silanes, salts, silicone, siloxanes and other chemicals which could cause poor
adhesion. All surfaces to be coated should be thoroughly cleaned by conventional means. Pre-treat with Sika® Biowash on areas subject to organic growth. If in doubt apply a test area first.

Prepare Sika® Reactivation Primer by stirring thoroughly. Sika® Reactivation Primer can be applied by short-piled roller or brush. Allow Sika® Reactivation Primer to dry sufficiently. Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika Thinner C immediately after use. Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
