Tikkurila Temacoat GPL

Tikkurila Temacoat GPL is a two component finishing coat which withstands +150°C dry heat as well as chemically active gases and dust. Temacoat GPL is also CE marked and therefore suitable for concrete.

Best Uses

Temacoat GPL is for use as a finishing topcoat for substrates exposed to heavy abrasion or chemical attack. It is ideally recommended for tanks, bridges, tubular bridges, conveyors and different types of steelwork.

Application

Application is by conventional spray, airless spray or brush. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination.

Primed surfaces should have all oil, dirt and grease removed from the surface prior to application. You should also repair any damage to the primer coat. Note the overcoating time of primer (ISO 12944-4).

Concrete surfaces must be dry and at least 4 weeks old. The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97%. Ensure that you remove any splashes and unevenness by grinding, as well as removing laitance and form oil from concrete castings by sanding or blast cleaning. Any cracks, crevices and voids must be repaired with a mixture of Temafloor 200 and fine dry quartz sand.

Please note: There is a natural tendency of this coating to chalk, discolour or yellow unevenly. It is therefore recommended that you use a polyurethane topcoat when there are high aesthetical requirements on colour appearance.
