Mapei Elastocolor Waterproof

Mapei Elastocolor Waterproof is an easy-to-use protective acrylic waterproof finish coat suitable for surfaces which are in permanent contact with water, such as flat roofs, and water tanks.

Best Uses

Mapei Elastocolor Waterproof has been formulated for professional use as a water-resistant, flexible final finish coat to give added protection to surfaces against UV rays, rainwater, chemical attack and atmospheric agents in areas that are not subject to foot traffic. Elastocolor Waterproof will protect the internal surfaces of water tanks where the skimming layer needs to be covered with a compatible, flexible finishing coat. Mapei Elastocolor Waterproofing is not suitable as a waterproofing membrane under other products such as ceramic tiles or chlorinated rubber swimming pool paint. Mapei Elastocolor Waterproof can be used on cementitious substrates, vertical and horizontal surfaces, flat roofs, special architectural elements such as domed roofs, water tanks, or surfaces not subject to foot traffic. Recommended for use over surfaces waterproofed with Mapelastic, Mapelastic Smart, Triblock Finish and Mapecoat I 600 W.

Mapei Elastocolor Waterproof is available in 6 standard colours or a range of colours using the Mapei ColorMap automatic colouring system.

Application

Apply Elastocolor Waterproof diluted with 5-10% water on prepared surfaces using a paint brush or roller. Apply two or three coats, allowing 24 hours between coats in normal temperature and humidity conditions. Spray application is possible on structures which are not immersed in water.

Please note that Elastocolor Waterproof is a finishing product applied in relatively thin coats (0.2-0.3 mm). If it is used in water tanks, therefore, bear in mind that it is not particularly resistant to high mechanical abrasion and may be damaged by equipment normally used for cleaning surfaces (robotic equipment, cleaning brushes, etc.).
