Application

Suitable for application onto suitably prepared cementitious substrates, brick and stone, slates, tiles, etc. Also suitable for asphalt, bituminous felt, metals, timber substrates and previous paints/coatings.

Flat Roof Waterproofing Only - 25 year expected durability*

Prior to priming all substrates must be clean dry and sound free from any oxidisation, mould and any other deleterious materials. For further information please contact technical services. Use Sikalastic RoofPro Advanced or Sika Reemat Premium as an embedment layer. For a topcoat, use Sikalastic RoofPro Advanced.

Metal and Asbestos Roof Waterproofing Only – 10 year expected durability*

Prior to priming all substrates must be clean dry and sound free from any oxidisation, mould and any other deleterious materials. For further information please contact technical services. Use Sikalastic RoofPro Advanced as an embedment coat. Next apply a reinforcement coat of Sika Flexistrip, Sika Flexitape or Sika Remmat Premium. For first topcoat, use Sikalastic RoofPro Advanced.

The application of the system must be approached as one operation. Always plan for reasonable progress of each coat. Work only so far in advance that the existing surface can be overcoated as the next operation. Finish the coating system completely before progressing to the next area. The ideal time between coats is within
48 hours. It is not good practice to plan breaks between coats of more than 7 days. For periods longer than this and less than 14 days the surface must be reactivated with Sika Reactivation Primer. Periods between coats longer than 14 days may affect the normal life term of the system –If this happens consult Sika for advice. Ensure each application/coat is clean and dry prior to overcoating. At no stage should the Sika system or waterproof coating in its finished or intermediate stage be used as a workspace or access floor without adequate protection.

Apply Sikalastic® RoofPro Advanced using a roller (short pile mohair roller), brush (soft nylon or bristle brush).

Sikalastic is known for being fast to apply and providing crack-bridging, this is through being a polyurethane and polyurea based liquid membrane. Sikalastic liquid applied membranes are highly elastic and flexible with polymeric systems, they’re usually based on polyurethane or polyurea resins and come with a range of great technical properties that ensure high performance applications. These materials can be applied on prepared and primed external concrete surfaces, the application should be by spraying, they’re a brilliant solution when it comes to complex detailing.

Sikalastic’s liquid applied membranes help to prevent lateral water underflow, should any damage start to happen. Applications below the base slab should be done on a special flexi before the structure is provided. Sikalastic systems are ideally suited to the waterproofing of podium deck slabs and are compatible with Sika solutions for below ground waterproofing, they offer a great solution for waterproofing an entire structure.

Sikalastic is a one component, its flexible, fibre reinforced mortar, that’s based on cement and modified with special alkali-resistant polymers, it contains fine fillers and selected graded aggregates, as well as waterproofing additives. This produces flexible mortar that's great for waterproofing surfaces with flexural strain, Sikalastic can also be applied easily.

Sikalastic is high quality, it’s a fibre reinforced waterproofing mortar that is known as one of the leaders in waterproofing solutions. It includes special alkali resistant polymers and waterproofing additives, it's also highly flexible and exceptional when it comes to crack-bridging properties. Its known for being ideal for waterproofing surfaces from basement walls to pools and surfaces underneath tiling, Sikalastic can also protect concrete against de-icing salts, freeze thaw and carbon dioxide, as well as being quick and easy to use, all you need to do is add water and apply with a brush or trowel.

Sikalastic RoofPro is a single component and cold-applied, moisture triggered polyurethane membrane. It’s used to form a seamless, durable and weather- resistant waterproofing solution. The more popular uses of this product include: Water-proofing of flat and pitched roof structures, communal walkways, podium decks and terrace roofs. As well as new construction and refurbishment projects, it’s also applicable to existing concrete, roofing felt, brickwork and asbestos cement decks.
