Sika Sikalastic Primer PVC is a one component primer for consistent and durable adhesion between Sika Sarnafil PVC roofing membranes and MTC based Sikalastic products.
Sika Sikalastic Primer PVC is clear red, low viscosity and dries by reaction with atmospheric moisture. It is specifically formulated to bond the liquid applied MTC based Sikalastic products membranes on to PVC surfaces.
- Simple application
- Cost effective
- Quickly drying
- Stable in service from -20 °C to +80 °C (intermittent)
Suitable substrates are new (less than 2 years old) of Sika Sarnafil S & G.
The surfaces must be clean, dry, free of stripping agents and free of oil, grease, silanes, salts, silicone, siloxanes and other chemicals which could cause poor
adhesion. Prior to the application of the Sikalastic Primer PVC clean with Sarna Cleaner and allow surface to dry for a minimum of 15 minutes at 23°C and 50%
relative humidity. Depending on climate, curing can be faster or slower.
Prior the application of Sikalastic Primer PVC the substrates must be cleaned and prepared with Sarna Cleaner. Heavy soiling should first be removed with water and detergents first. Shake the can of Sikalastic Primer PVC prior to application. Apply a thin but completely covering coat of Sikalastic® Primer PVC with a brush or
foam roller. Sikalastic® Primer PVC shall be applied once only. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application gives adequate and uniform coverage. (Glossy surface). Allow primer to dry sufficiently. Ambient temperatures affect drying time. The primer surface shall be tack-free before the Sikalastic® product is applied. For best results, apply Sikalastic® products within two hours after priming. Max. overcoating time is 12 hours. Reseal container tightly immediately after use.

The manufacturers data sheets are available for download from this website. It is your responsibility to read and understand all aspects of the data sheets before you place an order and prior to application. Please pay special attention to the preparation, mixing and application temperatures of the product, cleaning of substrate and environmental factors such as temperature, rain etc. Quoted coverage rates are based on the manufacturers theoretical rates and may vary depending upon substrates absorption, texture and application. We always recommend a test is carried out to ensure suitability.
Customer further agrees that Promain have no liability for any errors or omissions contained within the Product Data Sheets and are not liable for failure due to misapplication or inadequate substrate cleaning and preparation. For more information please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
