Mapei Silancolor Cleaner Plus

Mapei Silancolor Cleaner Plus is an odourless water solution cleaning product for the hygiene of walls.

Available with a smooth finish, Mapei Silancolor Cleaner Plus is a mould and mildew resistant product designed to be used with the Silancolor Plus Mapei range.

Best Uses

Mapei Silancolor Cleaner Plus is best used to clean surfaces damaged by mildew and mould before painting with the Silancolor Plus protection system. This product is best used for deep down cleaning of façades prior to the new coats of paint. Suitable for close in or poorly ventilated areas. Do not use on metal or wet surfaces.

Application

Preparation of the substrate
New surfaces or surfaces which have been patched with repair mortar must be well cured, perfectly clean, sound and dry. Completely remove all traces of oil or grease from the surface and areas which are not well attached. Seal any cracks which are present and repair areas which are in poor condition. Seal off the porosity and smooth off any uneven parts in the substrate with mortars and smoothing compounds from the MAPEI Building Products line.

Preparation of the product
Mix well the product before use. Depending on the level of biological damage, Silancolor Cleaner Plus may be applied neat or diluted till a ratio of 1:3 with water. Algae, mould and fungi must only be removed while damp, that is, after the surface has been thoroughly cleaned with Silancolor Cleaner Plus. Apply the product on the entire surface using a low-pressure, manual spray gun or by brush. Let the product penetrate into the surface, and then wait for a few minutes while the cleaning action takes place. Remove excess algae, mould and fungi with a brush. Repeat this operation, and apply Silancolor Cleaner Plus continuously to help it to penetrate deeply. Protect from rain for at least 8 hours. Silancolor Cleaner Plus does not need to be cleaned from the surface; it is perfectly compatible with the preparation and finishing products from the Silancolor Plus range. Silancolor Primer Plus may then be applied after approximately 12-24 hours, or once the wall has completely dried.
