International Interfine 979SG

International Interfine 979SG is a patented high performance, high volume solids content, acrylic polysiloxane cosmetic finish with low solar absorption (LSA) pigmentation providing excellent long term durability.

Best Uses

Interfine 979SG is intended for use on marine projects, as a cosmetic finish for above water areas. It is suitable for use at newbuilding and major refurbishment.

Application

The recommended application method for this product is either Airless or Conventional Spray. Application by Brush or Roller is suitable for small areas only, and multiple coats may be required to achieve the specified film thickness.

Use in accordance with the standard Worldwide Marine Specifications.

Ensure all surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry and free from contamination. High pressure fresh water wash or fresh water wash, as appropriate, and remove all oil or grease, soluble contaminants and other foreign matter in accordance with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.

Surface Preparations

Newbuilding / Major Refurbishment
Interfine 979SG should always be applied over a recommended primer coating scheme. The primer surface should be dry and free from all contamination, and Interfine 979SG must be applied within the overcoating intervals specified (consult the relevant product data sheet).

Areas of breakdown, damage etc. should be prepared to the specified standard (eg. Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1:2007)) and primed prior to the application of Interfine 979SG.
