Jotun Jotamastic Smart Pack HB is a two component amine cured epoxy mastic coating. Surface tolerant, high solids, high build coating. NORSOK approved.

Best Uses

Jotun Jotamastic Smart Pack HB has been specially designed for areas where optimum surface preparation is not possible or required. This 2 component coating is well suited to touch-up and repair work during outfitting in new construction projects. Jotun Jotamastic Smart Pack HB provides long lasting protection in environments with high corrosivity.

Jotun Jotamastic Smart Pack HB can be used as primer, mid-coat, finish coat or as single coat system in atmospheric and immersed environments. Suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium, concrete and a range of aged coating surfaces.

Jotun Jotamastic Smart Pack HB has been formulated for application with brush and roller with a 1:1 mixing ratio for easy use and reduced wastage.

  • Compatible previous coats include epoxy shop primer, zinc epoxy, epoxy, epoxy mastics.
  • Compatible subsequent coatings include polyurethane, polysiloxane, epoxy, acrylics.

Resistant to dry atmospheric heat continuously up to 120°C. Resistant to immersed seawater heat continuously at 50°C, peaking at 60°C.

  • Primarily designed for smaller maintenance and repair jobs
  • Recommended for offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings, mining equipment and general structural steel
  • Recommended for marine environments including outside hulls, exterior and interior areas, including water ballast tanks

Application

  • Carbon steel: Prepare to minimum of St 2 (ISO 8501-1), but preferably to Sa 2 (ISO 8501-1)
  • Stainless Steel / Aluminium: Abrasive blast cleaning to achieve a surface profile using non-metallic abrasive media which is suitable to achieve a sharp and angular surface profile.
  • Galvanised steel: Sweep blast-cleaning using non metallic abrasive leaving a clean, rough and even pattern.
  • Coated Surfaces: Clean, dry and undamaged compatible coating.
  • Concrete: Minimum 4 weeks curing. Moisture content maximum 5 %. Prepare the surface by means of enclosed blast shot or diamond grinding and other appropriate means to abrade the surrounding concrete and to remove laitance.

The product can be applied by airless spray, brush or roller.
