Mapei Planitop Mineral

Mapei Planitop Mineral is a polymer modified cement based textured render finish supplied in powder form to be mixed with water. Suitable for winter use.

Best Uses

Mapei Planitop Mineral is pre bagged white powder cement modified finish, with additives including accelerators for winter working. Mapei Planitop Mineral is available in 1.5mm and 2.0mm grain sizes. After setting, Mapei Planitop Mineral benefits from strong adhesion to surface, high impact resistant, thermal resistance, vapour permeable, frost resistance, quick drying times in winter conditions.

Provides good adhesion to substrate, highly water repellent, vapour permeable. Suitable for use internally and externally to ceilings and walls.

Suitable substrate examples include cement basecoats, Mapei Planitop Fast 330, Mapei Nivoplan, Mapetherm AR1 GG, Sand / cement with approved primer. Mapei Plantop Mineral is also ideal for new & refurbishment projects.

Application

Preparation of the substrate
New substrates or renovated surfaces must be cured, clean, sound and dry. Remove all oil, grease and any loose particles. If repairs are required use recommended primers and smoothing mortar from the Mapei building product range. Apply Mapei Silexcolor Basecoat as a primer to aid adhesion and combat any suction present in the substrate. Allow minimum 12-24 hrs before applying Mapei Planitop Mineral. Before application ensure windows, doors and any other building elements are covered with protection.

Preparation of Product
Use a clean bucket, add 4.25 litres clean water, mix 25 kg Mapei Planitop Mineral 1.5mm or 2.0mm with a low speed drill with mixing paddle / whisk. Mix for 3-4 minutes to obtain a good consistency. After 5 minutes re mix as required. Open time 20 minutes.

Apply with a stainless steel trowel to depth of grain. Ensure all the surface is sufficiently covered. To texture use a plastic trowel to remove any uniformity. Ensure substrate is dry. The whole elevation must be finished in one operation, use enough labour to apply in one operation. Keep a wet edge at all times. The temperature range during application is +5°C - +25°C. During application avoid windy weather and high temperatures. Relative humidity 85% or below.

Protect finished surface for at least 48 hours or ensure the weather is suitable. After minimum 3 days apply Mapei Silancolor Paint (silicone). Other paints (mineral & acrylics) allow 28 days.
