Graphenstone Four2Four is used as a primer to ensure the good adhesion of mineral paints on all types of interior and exterior surfaces.

Graphenstone 

Four2Four is a low VOC, high adhesion, primer/undercoat for interior and exterior use. Used as a multi-surface primer for new interior and exterior unpainted surfaces (Wood, MDF, Tiles, Non-ferrous metals, UPVc and glass). Four2Four can be used as an undercoat and bridging coat over primed or previously painted surfaces, and to help block some stains, tannins and as a knotting on timber.

• High adhesion primer for Wood, MDF, plastics and other non-absorbent surfaces
• Low VOC – less than 10g/L
• Use as a bridging undercoat over existing painted surfaces, eg oil based paints
• Stain stopping: tannins, water stains and as knotting on timber
• Interior & exterior use
• Good coverage – 11- 14m2/L

Areas of use: Interior & exterior. New surfaces - Wood, MDF, UPVc, Glazed tiles, primed metals, other non-absorbent surfaces. Old paint, glossy surfaces.

Application

Four2Four can be applied by either roller, brush or airless spray. It is suitable for use on all substrates, including metal or wooden surfaces, and is especially ideal on smooth non-porous surfaces such as ceramics, polyurethane paints, epoxy or plasticised panels.

Whichever substrate Four2Four is being applied to, preparation is key. Always ensure that the surface is clean, dry, firm, well adhered, even, and free of any impurities that could hinder the perfect bonding of the product.

Depending on the nature of the substrate, the application method will vary.:

On metal surfaces with corrosion or oxidation:

Ensure that surface is thoroughly cleaned and pre-apply a passivating agent.

When used as an adhesion bridge or on metal substrates:

Apply 1 or 2 layers depending on absorption or exterior use. Sand gently to improve adhesion of the product.

When used as a wood sealant:

Begin by sanding the wood in the direction of the grain and clean thoroughly. Remove any resins or resin secretions and then smooth any sharp edges. Apply 1 or 2 coats depending on absorption. When a fine finish is desired, ensure to sand between coats.

When used as an MDF sealant:

Thoroughly clean the surface before applying 2 coats. You will need to sand in between coats.

When used as a stain sealant:

Apply one coat on the affected surface to fix the stain. For more stubborn stains a second coat may be required. Please be aware that Four2Four</strong/> does not cover stains itself, stain coverage is achieved with application of the finishing paint.

If the treated area is not covered within 7 days, it is recommended to sand softly to enhance adhesion of the top coat.
