Keim M Fluat 10 is a pre-treatment and cleaning agent based on silicic acid which, when applied, reacts to form harmless compounds.
KEIM M Fluat 10 Lime Remover (Ätzflüssigkeit) is a pre-treatment and cleaning agent for the removal of sinter layers on new renders and cleaning of existing renders. Keim Lime Remover is completely neutralised when correctly used. Keim M Fluat 10 may also be used as a cleaning agent for dirty areas of existing render.
Keim Lime Remover may be applied once the render surface has dried, after a minimum period of one day. Lime renders (PIa, PIb) must be allowed to set for at least 4 weeks before a second application can be applied. A colour coat may be applied once a further drying period has elapsed.
Dilute 1 litre of Lime Remover with 3 litres of water. In order to accelerate drying and carbonation, Keim M Fluat 10 Lime Remover should not be applied to the render before the surface has dried, at which point it should be brushed on appropriately diluted from bottom to top to saturate the surface. The reaction starts immediately and can be recognised by slight foaming. Treated surfaces should then be washed down with water. New render on interior walls does not need to be washed down.
Pure lime renders of mortar groups PIa and PIb which harden only slowly by absorbing carbon dioxide may form new sinter layers and require a second application.
Keim M Fluat 10 Lime Remover is part of the extensive range of Keim products available from Promain.
