Teknos AquaTop 2600-2X is formulated as a topcoat for external wood. This product is available in various gloss levels and is tintable to Teknos's range of wooden opaque and translucent shades. This product is ideal for wooden window frames, doors, conservatories and wooden leisure buildings such as cabins or log buildings.
Teknos AquaTop 2600 is suitable for the coating of softwoods, hard woods, or engineered and modified timbers. Teknos Aquatop 2600 provides a flexible, durable and microporous protective film which is resistant to attack from bacteria, mould and UV rays. It is also resistant to blocking on storage and stacking.
Finish Levels:
The wood must be clean and free from wood dust and contamination. The moisture content of the wood should be approx. 13% and should not exceed 15%. All softwood and non-durable hardwood for exterior use should either be vacuum impregnated (only softwood) or treated with a wood preservative. Apply using Airmix (aircoat) or airless by hand or in automatic spraying equipment. The product is delivered ready for use. Stir the product well before use.
In order to achieve UV protection when applying a translucent colour, the film layer must minimum be ≥ 80 μm dry (approx. 225 μm wet).
