Sika SikaGrout 800
Sika SikaGrout 800 is a cementitious, high-performance, shrinkage-compensated engineering grout. It contains supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and can reduce the carbon footprint when compared to a reference cementitious grout in a Life Cycle Assessment. Reaction to fire EuroClass A1.
SikaGrout®-800 has an improved workability that makes grouting jobs easy and fast to carry out. It will fulfill needs of the customers due to the high build-up thickness, low shrinking and low heat development properties, and the outstanding carbon reduced footprint.
Best Uses
SikaGrout®-800’s unique formulation allows the application of up to 300mm in one layer avoiding unnecessary waiting times between layer and saving labour work. This is possible even when pumped over long distances. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor, horizontal and vertical areas, and overhead when a formwork is previously placed.
SikaGrout 800 is used for the following:
- Grouting heavy equipment or machine bases.
- Grouting under support base plates.
- Bedding joints in precast concrete sections.
- Sealing around penetrations.
- Steel reinforcement anchoring.
- Repairing concrete structures and components.
SikaGrout®-800 was formulated with the right combination of cements and aggregates to achieve resistance to sulphates and sea water, allowing this grout to be used even in harsh environments like marine or industrial.
Please note: This product can only be used by experienced professionals.
Application
Prior to application you should prepare the concrete to provide a mechanical key and to remove any contamination which will impair the grout flow or reduce adhesion strength. Remove laitance, delaminated, weak, damaged and deteriorated concrete using appropriate preparation equipment.
Clean any pockets or holes for structural fixings from all debris and water and ensure the substrate is structurally sound and thoroughly cleaned with a textured finish exposing the aggregate.
Steel:
Prepare the steel to remove any contamination which will impair the grout flow or reduce adhesion strength. Clean the substrate using grinding, abrading or shot blasting equipment. Ensure that the substrate is thoroughly clean and free from oil, grease, rust and scale.
Shuttering or Formwork:
Where formwork is to be used, all formwork must be adequate strength, treated with release agent and sealed to prevent leakage of pre-wetting water and grout. If vacuum extraction equipment is not used to remove pre-soak water ensure the formwork includes outlets for the pre-soaked water to drain.
For manual grout application, construct a header box or hopper on one side of the formwork so that a minimum grout head of 150 to 200 mm can be maintained during the grouting operation.
Strictly follow the installation procedures as defined in Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions. If you are unsure or have any questions please contact our Technical Team for further advice.
