Rustoleum Aqua Matt is a water based, quick drying varnish decorative finish that is opaque and scratch proof. Suitable for use on interior wood, hand plastics and metal.
Rustoleum Aqua Matt is a matt, opaque, scratch proof, water based varnish for a decorative finish of wood, hard plastics and metal. Quick drying, low odour and almost no solvents, so more environmentally friendly. For interior use.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust or grease.
For untreated wood: Degrease, sand lightly and remove any dust. Next, apply Acrylic Primer. Allow to dry. Next sand the surface, remove dust and fill any irregularities if present. Apply primer to filled areas. Finish with 1 or 2 coats of Acrylic lacquer Mat.
For painted surfaces in good condition: Carefully degrease with a degreasing agent, sand down until matt and remove dust. If necessary, fill irregularities with filler and apply Acrylic Primer to the filler when dry. Sand to a smooth finish. Finally, apply 1 top coat of Acrylic lacquer Mat.
For painted surfaces in poor condition: Remove all poorly adhering paint using paint stripper or a blowtorch / hot air paint removal gun. Then treat as “Untreated wood”.
For untreated MDF, chipboard, etc.: Degrease, sand lightly and remove any dust. Apply Acrylic Primer after diluting with 5 - 10% water. Allow to dry, sand and remove dust. Next, apply a second undiluted coat of Acrylic Primer with 1 or 2 coats of Acrylic lacquer Mat.
For untreated metal: Carefully remove grease, any mill scale and rust. Pre-treat with a suitable rust preventive primer. Next, apply an undiluted coat of Acrylic Primer. Finally, finish with Acrylic lacquer Mat.
For hard plastics: Degrease, lightly sand and remove any dust. Pre-treat with 1 coat of Universal Primer and finish by applying a top coat of Acrylic lacquer Mat.
Stir thoroughly prior to use. Apply 1 or 2 coats using an acrylic paint brush, acrylic paint roller or paint sprayer. The first layer can be diluted with up to 3% of water. After every coat, lightly sand down and remove dust.
